Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response is incomplete, as it cuts off abruptly mid-sentence while describing the table data. Because the response is under the 150-word minimum and fails to complete the analysis of the table, it does not address all parts of the task. While the introduction and the overview are clear, and the description of the pie chart is accurate, the failure to finish the report significantly impacts the score. To improve, ensure you allocate enough time to cover all data points provided in the prompt and meet the minimum word count requirement to allow for a full summary and comparison.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response shows a logical progression of ideas, starting with an introduction, an overview, and then moving into the body paragraphs. Cohesive devices such as 'Starting with', 'Furthermore', and 'Moreover' are used to link sentences effectively. However, because the text ends prematurely, the overall structure is incomplete. Paragraphing is present, but the final paragraph is left unfinished, which disrupts the flow of the response. To reach a higher band, ensure that all paragraphs are fully developed and that the conclusion or final analysis is clearly articulated before the word limit is reached.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary used is generally appropriate for an academic report, with terms like 'remuneration', 'full-time employment', and 'proportion' used correctly. There are some minor spelling errors, such as 'universityt' and 'hihest'. The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks the variety and precision required for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms for common words and ensure careful proofreading to eliminate simple spelling mistakes that detract from the professional tone of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are some grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'majority of the graduates' (should be 'the majority') and 'made up of 15%' (should be 'made up 15%'). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. The sentence structure is generally clear, but the abrupt ending makes it difficult to assess the full range of your grammatical control. Focusing on article usage and prepositional phrases will help improve your accuracy.
