Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both the chart and the table, but the information provided is often inaccurate or confusing. For example, the description of the data for 'part time work plus postgrad study' as 5% is unclear, and the interpretation of the salary table is disjointed. The response fails to clearly highlight the main features or make meaningful comparisons between the categories. Many figures are presented in a way that makes it difficult for the reader to understand the actual trends. To improve, you must ensure that the data you report matches the visual information provided and focus on grouping related information to create a logical summary.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or incorrect, such as 'regarding the remaining points which was lies between 5% to 15%'. The transition between the chart and the table is abrupt, and the lack of clear signposting makes the text difficult to follow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall structure lacks the logical flow required for a higher band. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choice, such as 'the percentage of anthropology who are graduates' instead of 'the percentage of anthropology graduates'. The use of '1lakh% 30$' is unclear and inappropriate for an academic report. You need to expand your range of vocabulary to describe data more precisely, using terms like 'proportion', 'accounted for', 'fluctuated', or 'remained stable'. Focusing on accurate terminology for data reporting will help you convey information more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'government sector was stood at 5%') and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation, making the text difficult to read. There is a limited range of complex structures, and the attempts at using them are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and using correct tense forms when describing data. Proofreading for basic errors like 'was lies' or 'is stood' is essential.
