Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response is incomplete, as the final paragraph cuts off mid-sentence, leaving the analysis of the salary table unfinished. While you successfully identified the main features of the pie chart, such as the 52% in full-time work, the failure to complete the task significantly impacts the overall coverage. To improve, ensure you provide a balanced report that covers all data points presented in the prompt. The overview is present but lacks depth due to the abrupt ending. You must ensure that all parts of the prompt are addressed with sufficient detail to reach a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps with the overall structure. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the final section. You use some cohesive devices like 'In contrast' and 'However', but the flow is interrupted by the unfinished sentence at the end. The referencing is generally clear, but the mechanical errors in the text occasionally make the logical progression feel disjointed. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts fully and using a wider variety of linking words to connect your comparisons more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'destination', and 'employment sectors'. However, there are frequent spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'accopanying', 'Looling', 'destionation', 'ull-time', 'slelect', 'uknow', 'chosing', and 'counsultants'. These errors are noticeable and occasionally distract the reader. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the basic meaning, the high frequency of spelling mistakes limits your score. Focus on proofreading your work to correct these slips and try to incorporate more precise academic collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'the largest proportion of graduates select the full-time work' (should be 'select full-time work') and 'the proportion of graduates in unemployed group are 12%' (should be 'the unemployed group is 12%'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent punctuation to improve your accuracy.
