Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. Because the response is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, it fails to provide a full overview or a complete comparison of the data. While the introduction attempts to outline the charts, the body paragraphs are underdeveloped and do not cover the salary table effectively. To improve, you must ensure you provide a clear summary of all data points presented in both the chart and the table, ensuring the response is of sufficient length to fully address the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response uses some basic cohesive devices such as 'Initially' and 'Furthermore', but the overall structure is fragmented. The paragraphing is present but the content within the paragraphs is not logically developed, partly due to the incomplete nature of the text. The flow of information is interrupted by the abrupt ending, making it difficult to follow the progression of ideas. To improve, focus on creating a clear, logical structure where each paragraph has a distinct purpose, and ensure that your sentences are connected smoothly using a variety of linking words.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'highest ratio' and 'timely increasing' are used, but they lack the precision required for academic reporting. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'post five years salary' instead of 'salaries five years after graduation'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility needed for higher bands. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic terminology related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuate', or 'remuneration'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains several grammatical errors, including punctuation issues (e.g., 'However ,the') and awkward phrasing ('anthropologists graduates showed'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and the attempt at a complex structure is incomplete. There are errors in article usage and prepositional phrases that occasionally hinder the clarity of the message. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring correct subject-verb agreement, and practicing the use of complex sentences to add variety to your writing.
