Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task, providing a clear overview and selecting relevant data from both the pie chart and the table. You successfully identified the main trends, such as the dominance of full-time employment and the salary distribution across sectors. However, the analysis of the table is slightly mechanical, listing percentages rather than synthesizing the information to highlight key comparisons more effectively. For instance, while you mention the salary brackets, the report could be improved by grouping the sectors more analytically to show which sectors generally pay better. Overall, the response is accurate and fulfills the requirements of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Additionally', and 'Furthermore' to guide the reader through the data. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two distinct data sets. However, some transitions feel slightly repetitive, and the referencing could be smoother. For example, in the final paragraph, the flow between the different salary brackets could be improved by using more varied linking phrases to avoid a list-like structure. Despite this, the progression of ideas is clear throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'share', 'outweighs', and 'participation'. There are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'higest' instead of 'highest' and 'comapre' instead of 'compare'. While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the overall range is somewhat limited, and the phrasing is occasionally repetitive. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise collocations related to data reporting, such as 'account for', 'constitute a significant portion', or 'fluctuate'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'full time graduates work at higest proportion' (missing articles) and 'in above $0.1m package' (preposition error). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and spelling slips throughout. You show control over basic structures, but the frequency of these small errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
