Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have successfully identified the main features of both the pie chart and the table. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with data from the charts. However, there are some inaccuracies in your reporting; for example, you state that 'over 1 lakh dollars' were earned by a significant proportion, but the table actually shows that 40% of graduates in government and 50% in private companies earned over $100k. Additionally, the data for 'unknown' is 8%, not 5% as implied by your phrasing. To reach a higher band, ensure that data points are transcribed with absolute precision and that comparisons between categories are more explicitly linked to the provided figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Overall,' 'According to the pie chart,' and 'On contrary' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or awkward, such as 'On contrary' (should be 'On the contrary') and the repetitive use of 'followed by' in the third paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two different data sets. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'this', 'these') is used more naturally to connect ideas between sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'alumni,' 'freelance consultants,' and 'proportion.' There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'similiar university' (should be 'similar'), 'working span' (which is slightly unnatural in this context), and the use of '1 lakh' (which is a regionalism; '100,000' is preferred in international English). While you attempt to use less common vocabulary, the occasional inaccuracies prevent a higher score. Focus on using standard international numerical formats and refining your collocations to sound more natural in an academic context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'more than half number of alumni' (should be 'more than half the number of alumni'), 'persuing' (spelling error: 'pursuing'), and '5 years' of working span' (incorrect apostrophe usage). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher band. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles. Ensure that your complex sentences are constructed with precision to avoid minor errors in tense and punctuation.
