Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of both the chart and the table. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For instance, the statement 'Most of the students working in government sector had highest salary' is a bit vague, and the description of the pie chart data lacks precision in comparing the categories effectively. While you have identified the main trends, the report would benefit from more careful selection of data points to support your comparisons. You have addressed all parts of the prompt, but the development of the information is limited, which prevents a higher score. Ensure that you clearly distinguish between the two data sets and provide more accurate comparisons between the salary brackets.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. There is a clear progression of ideas, moving from the pie chart to the table. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'which is followed by' and 'on the other hand'. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'the graduates whose information are unknown', which makes the flow slightly disjointed. Improving the variety and naturalness of your linking words would help to achieve a higher band score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey the necessary information. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'individuals graduated' instead of 'graduates', 'very less' instead of 'a very small percentage', and 'acquires highest salaries' instead of 'earn the highest salaries'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your report. To improve, focus on using more academic collocations and ensuring that your word forms are accurate in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues like 'most of students are' (should be 'most students are') and 'information are unknown' (should be 'information is unknown'). Additionally, there are errors with articles and prepositions, such as 'working as a full-time' and 'working under government'. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy would be highly beneficial.
