Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
You have successfully identified the main features of both the pie chart and the table. You provided a clear overview and supported your points with relevant data. However, there are some inconsistencies in your reporting. For instance, you mention that the figure for graduates working part-time along with postgrad study was the smallest in the overview, but later you state that full-time postgrad study had the smallest percentage. Additionally, the data interpretation for the table is slightly confusing; you list percentages for different salary brackets but do not always clearly distinguish between the sectors, making the comparison harder to follow. Ensure that your data points are accurately transcribed and logically grouped to improve clarity.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'whereas', 'by contrast', and 'meanwhile' to link ideas. However, the progression within the second body paragraph is slightly mechanical. The transition between the different salary brackets could be smoother to help the reader follow the comparison between sectors more effectively. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the overall structure is sound, though the flow could be enhanced by using more varied cohesive markers rather than relying on simple contrastive conjunctions.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'engaged in', and 'freelance consultants'. There are a few minor spelling errors, such as 'persuing' (pursuing) and 'comapared' (compared). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the information, it is somewhat repetitive. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise reporting verbs or nouns to describe the data, such as 'accounted for', 'constituted', or 'represented' in a more varied manner. The current range is functional but lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is appropriate for this task. Most of your sentences are clear, and the grammatical errors present do not impede communication. There are some minor issues with punctuation and article usage, such as 'in field' instead of 'in the field'. While you attempt complex structures, they are generally limited to basic subordinating clauses. To improve, try to integrate more varied sentence patterns, such as using participle phrases or more advanced relative clauses to describe the data trends more fluidly.
