Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. Furthermore, the response is incomplete, ending abruptly mid-sentence. While the introduction and overview attempt to cover the main features of the pie chart and table, the analysis is underdeveloped. The description of the data is repetitive and lacks the necessary depth to fully report the main features or make meaningful comparisons between the categories. To improve, you must ensure the response is complete and provides a more thorough analysis of the data trends rather than just listing percentages.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into an introduction, an overview, and a body paragraph, which provides a basic structure. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore' and 'while on the other hand', but their application is sometimes mechanical or awkward. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly when discussing the categories in the pie chart. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, logical focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive. There are several spelling errors, such as 'Arthopologist' instead of 'Anthropologist' and 'slaries' instead of 'salaries'. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying heavily on the words provided in the prompt. To achieve a higher band score, you should aim to use more precise terminology to describe data, such as 'proportion', 'distribution', or 'fluctuation', and ensure you are using correct spelling throughout your writing. Expanding your range of academic collocations will also help improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'most of the salaries are in the Government sector'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'not knows stays same'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, which occasionally makes the text difficult to follow. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like subject-verb agreement and pluralization. Increasing the variety of your sentence structures will also help you demonstrate better control over grammar.
