Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to cover both the chart and the table, but it fails to complete the task. The final paragraph is cut off mid-sentence, leaving the analysis of the salary data incomplete. While the main features of the pie chart are identified, the comparison of salary data is underdeveloped and lacks the necessary detail to fully satisfy the prompt. The overview is present but lacks clarity due to grammatical issues. To improve, ensure all data points are fully described and that the response is completed in full, avoiding abrupt endings.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of sophisticated cohesive devices. The transition between the pie chart analysis and the table data is abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'which students are unable to find the job that are twelve percent', which makes the sentence structure difficult to follow. The use of linking words is limited, relying heavily on basic conjunctions. Improving the use of cohesive devices like 'furthermore', 'in contrast', or 'consequently' would help the ideas flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. There are several spelling errors, such as 'pai' instead of 'pie' and 'smothly' instead of 'smoothly'. The range of vocabulary is basic, often relying on simple descriptors like 'more than' or 'highest ratio'. There is an attempt to use specific terms like 'freelance consultants' and 'government sector', but the lack of precision in describing trends (e.g., 'more rapidly increased') limits the score. Expanding your range of synonyms for 'increase', 'decrease', and 'proportion' would significantly enhance the quality of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'salaries are more rapidly increased' and 'only eight percent student are that not known'. Sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when attempting complexity. Punctuation is inconsistent, and the incomplete final sentence demonstrates a lack of control over sentence construction. To reach a higher band, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect pluralization.
