Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
You have successfully addressed all parts of the task. You provided a clear overview of the main trends in the pie chart and the salary table, and you selected relevant data points to support your descriptions. The comparison between the three employment sectors in the table is well-handled. To reach a higher band, ensure that all comparisons are fully integrated; for instance, you could explicitly contrast the government sector's high-earning potential with the more balanced distribution of private company employees more directly. Overall, the information is accurate and the key features are well-highlighted.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the chart and the table. The progression of ideas is smooth, and you use cohesive devices such as 'meanwhile', 'however', and 'in terms of' effectively to link sentences and sections. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two distinct data sets. The flow is natural, and the information is easy to follow. There is no evidence of mechanical or repetitive use of linking words, which demonstrates a good level of control over the structure of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey information precisely. Phrases like 'largest category', 'similar pattern', and 'different distribution' are used accurately. You avoid repetition and use specific terminology related to data reporting. There are no significant spelling errors, and the word choice is appropriate for an academic report. To improve further, you could incorporate more sophisticated collocations or synonyms to describe trends, such as 'predominant' instead of 'largest' or 'fluctuated' if the data allowed, though your current range is already quite effective for this task.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures with good control. Most of your sentences are error-free, and the few minor slips, such as 'In term of' (should be 'In terms of') and 'mostly likely' (should be 'most likely'), do not impede communication. Your use of punctuation is generally accurate, and the grammatical structures used to report percentages and salary ranges are handled correctly. The response shows a good command of grammar, with enough variety to maintain the reader's interest and clarity throughout the report.
