Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the pie chart and the table. You have identified key features, such as the 52% in full-time work and the salary distribution. However, the analysis of the table is somewhat confusing and lacks precision. For example, the statement 'highest number of people having highest salary was paid to the Government sector' is unclear because the table shows salary ranges, not just a single 'highest' salary. Furthermore, the final paragraph contains contradictory information regarding private companies, which makes the comparison difficult to follow. To improve, ensure that your descriptions of data are accurate and that comparisons are clearly linked to the specific figures provided in the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Starting with', 'Moving forward', and 'Overall'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear; for instance, in the final paragraph, the phrase 'highest number of people were getting highest salaries' is vague and lacks a clear connection to the data points mentioned earlier. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring that pronouns or references clearly point back to the intended data would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'undergraduate degree', 'full-time', and 'freelance consultants'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation. For example, 'highest percentage of segment' is awkward phrasing, and 'sharing it's number of percentage' is grammatically incorrect and imprecise. You rely on repetitive structures when describing the data, which limits the sophistication of your lexical range. To reach a higher band, try to vary your vocabulary by using synonyms for 'percentage' or 'graduates' and focus on using more precise collocations when describing statistical trends.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The given pie chart illustrate', 'The given table show') and incorrect use of articles (e.g., 'highest percentage of segment'). There are also punctuation errors, such as unnecessary spaces before commas. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall clarity of your writing. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and proofreading for minor punctuation slips will significantly improve your score.
