The given pie chart shows information about the destination of Anthropology graduates after completing their undergraduate degree from a particular university and the table gives data about their salaries after five years.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response effectively covers all parts of the task. You have provided a clear overview and successfully selected key features from both the pie chart and the table. Comparisons are made throughout, such as contrasting the government sector with private companies in the salary table. The data is accurately represented, and the main trends are highlighted well. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are integrated more smoothly into the narrative rather than listing them, and double-check the accuracy of the percentages provided, as some descriptions of the table data could be more precise in their comparative language.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. Each paragraph has a central focus, which aids readability. You use cohesive devices such as 'In term of', 'According to', and 'compared with' to link ideas. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or grammatically awkward, such as 'In term of the pie chart'. Improving the variety of linking phrases and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'the latter', 'the former') is used more naturally would enhance the flow and cohesion of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'accounted for', and 'category' correctly. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'recorded for' instead of 'recorded at' or 'recorded as'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the information clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for higher bands. Incorporating more varied synonyms for 'highest proportion' or 'share' would help demonstrate a more flexible lexical range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical inaccuracies, such as 'In term of' (should be 'In terms of'), 'recorded at 12%' (should be 'was 12%'), and issues with article usage (e.g., 'the government sector' vs 'government sector'). Some sentences are slightly clunky, which impacts the overall fluency. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions when describing statistical data.
