Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to cover the main features of both the pie chart and the table. The candidate notes that more than half of the graduates are in full-time work (52%) and mentions unemployment rates, post-graduate studies, and various salary brackets. However, the interpretation of the second chart (the table) is very confused and contains significant inaccuracies regarding the data. For instance, the text claims 'salaries of 5% graduates after 5 years... are 25,000 to 49,999' whereas the table shows this is the salary for freelance consultants, not a 5% group as stated, and misinterprets the proportions working in private companies versus government sectors. While the main features are partially addressed, the misinterpretation and lack of clarity in reporting specific data points prevent a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is organized into brief paragraphs, starting with an introduction followed by an overall statement and body paragraphs. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow due to disjointed sentences and poor referencing, such as 'In second chart, the salaries of 5% graduates...' which lacks clarity. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or inaccurately, such as 'Moreover' and 'Apart from this', which do not smoothly connect the ideas. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal structure of the paragraphs is weak, resulting in a somewhat fragmented reading experience.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with noticeable spelling errors like 'anthropoplogy', 'presueing', and 'consults'. There are also frequent word choice and collocation issues, such as 'jobs after of anthropoplogy graduates', 'doing full time work after there course', and 'double of these ratio of graduates'. The range of vocabulary is limited to minimally adequate for the task, and lexical inaccuracies occasionally cause difficulty for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent attempts at complex structures that are faulty. Examples of grammatical errors include 'The pie chart and table graph illustrates' (subject-verb agreement error), 'others are not known', and 'Other graduates earns similar amount who are working'. Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also poorly managed, resulting in dangling fragments like '40% doing jobs as freelance consults are earning...'. Frequent errors cause strain and difficulty for the reader.
