IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The chart below shows what Anthropology graduates from one university did after finishing their undergraduate degree course. The table shows the salaries of the anthropologists in work after five years.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparison where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The two diagrams illustrates post-graduation anthropologist's activities of students from one university, also given are the salaries of working anthropologists after 5 years of working experience.

Overall, as shown in the pie chart almost half of them were working full time jobs and the the number of people doing part-time jobs together with postgraduation study was smallest, as a whole showing a total of six categories. The table depicts that most of them were very highly paid that is pays greater than $100,000, showing almost three type of employers with four different pay packages.

The final abode of 50% of the graduates was full time working jobs while only 15% were doing part-time jobs. 12% of them were still unemployed with around 8% doing full-time post graduation study and same percentage is for people with unknown status. Least percentage which is 5% are the postagrads who were doing part-time job and also postgrad study simultaneously. All this data being shown with the help of a pie chart.

Wages of anthropologists has been summed in the table 50% of government employes had salaries greater than $100,000. While only 5% had among the range $25,000-49,999, freelancers also had same percentage in this salaray group. However, Freelancers have a major chunk that is 40% each for salaries greater than $100,000 and between $75,00-99,000. Private companies had the highest percentage in the second pay group that is $50,000-74,999, of about 35% and same as others, it also has least percentage which is 10% in the first pay group.
