IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The chart below shows what Anthropology graduates from one university did after finishing their undergraduate degree course. The table shows the salaries of the anthropologists in work after five years.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparison where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie chart and table illustrates the employment status and type of employment along with salary pakage of of Anthropology graduates after of work.

Overall, it is evident that the full-time work is the largest figure while part-time work plus postgrad study is the smallest. Government is the highest paying sector among three types of employment however it also depicts lowest salary pakage along with freelance consultants.

In the pie chart, full-time work accounted for more than half of the figure. Whereas, rest of the destinations make upto the other half. Although part-time work is the second highest share it still constituted 15% of the chart. Furthermore, 12% graduates were unemployed, 8% were full-time postgrad students likewise unknown. Only 5% were part-time workers with postgrad study.

In the table, Government jobs were the highest paid with 50% above 100,000$. Though Freelance consultants and private employees have 40% and 30% people with $100,000+ salaries. Private companies most popular salary pakage is $50,000-74,999 with 35% and 10% is between $25,000-49,999. In contrast, freelance consultants give $75,000-99,999 and $100,000+ to 80 percent of their employees.
