The chart below shows what Anthropology graduates from one university did after finishing their undergraduate degree course. The table shows the salaries of the anthropologists in work after five years.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparison where relevant.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The pie chart illustrates what anthropology graduates from one university chose to do after completing their undergraduate degree.The table compares the salaries of these graduates across three different employment sectors after working for five years.

Overall, the majority of anthropology graduates entered full-time employment after completing their studies.In terms of earnings after five years , graduates working in the government sector and as freelance consultants generally made higher salaries compared to those employed in private companies.

Looking at the pie chart, just over half of the graduates(52%) found full time work. The second largest group was part time employment, which accounted for 15%. Meanwhile, 12% of the graduates were unemployed. Equal proportions of students continued into full time postgraduates study or had unknown statuses, both at 8%. The smallest category was students combining part time work with postgraduate study, making up just 5%.

Regarding salaries after five years, 50% of government employees and 40% of freelance consultants earned the highest salary of $100,000 or more. In contrast ,only 30% of employees in private companies reached this top income bracket. Instead, the highest percentage of private sectors workers(35%) earned between $50,000 and $74,999. Finally, very few graduates across all sectors remained in the lowest salary range($25,000-$49,999), with only 5% of freelancers and government workers, and 10% of private sector employees earning this amount.
