Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The student makes a strong start by paraphrasing the rubric effectively in the introduction. The overview in the second paragraph captures general trends from both the chart and the table. However, the subsequent paragraphs contain several inaccuracies and confusing phrasings, such as 'fourth part of this generation is doing part time work near about that are unemployed'. The data reporting for the salary table is also vague and partially misinterpreting the exact percentages. Furthermore, severe mechanical and grammatical breakdowns in the middle of the response impede clear communication of the visual data. As a result, the task is only partially addressed in terms of accuracy and detailed feature reporting, aligning best with Band 5.0 descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response is organized into distinct paragraphs, starting with an introduction and overview, followed by body paragraphs addressing the chart and table. However, internal cohesion is frequently broken by poor linking devices and severe syntactical errors, such as 'It is clear that, Majority of the students choies full-time jobes and fourth part of this generation is doing part time work...'. Progression becomes difficult to follow in the third paragraph due to run-on structures and missing punctuation. While paragraphing is attempted, the overall logical flow and cohesive control are weak, corresponding to Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student demonstrates an adequate vocabulary for handling basic concepts related to employment and salaries, using terms like 'undergraduate studies', 'career paths', and 'freelance consultants'. However, there are numerous basic spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, including 'choies', 'jobes', 'fourth part' (instead of a quarter), and 'Goverment'. Less common vocabulary is attempted with noticeable inaccuracy, and word forms are frequently confused. This profile matches the criteria for Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

While the opening sentences show a mix of simple and complex forms with reasonable accuracy, the grammar deteriorates significantly in the middle of the essay. The student produces non-sentences and heavily flawed structures, such as 'near about that are unemployed while the fewer are doing full time postgraduate study at same in lowest ratio are those students who are doing both part-time work or study.' Punctuation is missing or misused in multiple places, and subject-verb agreement issues are common. The range of structures is limited and error frequency is high, warranting a band score of 4.5, rounded to 5.0 based on the better-controlled opening.
