Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the main parts of the task by summarizing the pie chart and the table, but the coverage is somewhat uneven. While the main features are identified, some of the descriptions are underdeveloped or lack precise data selection. For instance, the overview touches upon the main points, but details like the exact breakdown of salary brackets in private companies or freelance sectors are partially muddled with imprecise reporting, such as describing the top salaries rather than presenting a comprehensive overview of trends. The figures are generally derived from the visual data, but key comparisons across the three employment types could have been drawn more sharply to move towards a more fully developed response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The text maintains a coherent overall arrangement and follows a logical progression, moving from the pie chart of graduate destinations to the table of salaries, and finishing with an overall summary. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different visual elements. However, cohesion at the sentence level is sometimes mechanical or faulty. Devices such as 'In survey', 'number of part-time workers are cover', and repetitive transitional phrases are awkward. Referencing is occasionally unclear, which prevents the essay from achieving a more fluid and sophisticated structural flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing a sufficient range to describe basic charts and tables, but it features noticeable errors in word choice and collocation. Phrases like 'completing degree course', 'do both post-graduation study with part-time job', and 'one lakh plus salary' indicate a lack of precision and awkward phrasing. There are also inappropriate lexical choices, such as 'most paying salaries to workers' instead of 'highest-paying', which occasionally causes slight strain for the reader. Attempts at less common vocabulary are limited and accompanied by inaccuracies.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few faulty attempts at complex forms. Frequent errors are present throughout the text, involving articles ('the salaries who is anthropologist', 'almost half students'), subject-verb agreement ('number of part-time workers are cover'), prepositions ('in freelance consultant sector'), and tense usage. These errors occur regularly and can occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, restricting the control over grammatical structures to a basic level.
