Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response only partially addresses the prompt. While there is an attempt to summarise the visual data by mentioning the highest destination category and government salaries, the response is notably incomplete, missing the detailed comparison of the table categories such as private companies and freelance consultants. Furthermore, the response fails to meet the minimum word length requirement of 150 words, stopping short at 143 words. Ideas are limited and under-developed, and the selection of main features lacks comprehensive coverage of the provided tables and charts. To improve, you need to ensure all parts of the visual data are represented and fully developed, while strictly adhering to the minimum word count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation in the text, with an introductory sentence followed by an overview and body details, but there is no clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, though the final paragraph is abruptly cut short and left incomplete due to the text ending prematurely. Cohesive devices are basic and sometimes repetitive (such as the frequent use of 'which made up' and 'which was'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the overall structure lacks the seamless logical flow expected at higher bands. To progress, you should ensure that paragraphs are fully developed and that ideas are linked more smoothly using a wider variety of cohesive devices without repetition.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. You attempt some less common vocabulary items like 'graduates', 'unemployed', and 'consultants', but there are noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling throughout the text, such as 'generall' instead of 'generally', 'wrok' instead of 'work', 'posgrad' instead of 'postgrad', and 'Hoever' instead of 'However'. These errors reflect a lack of precision and control. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your lexical range and eliminate basic spelling and word-form errors through careful proofreading.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple and straightforward complex forms. When complex structures are attempted, they sometimes contain grammatical inaccuracies, such as the subject-verb agreement error in 'The pie chart and table provides' instead of 'provide', and article misuse in 'from an university' instead of 'from a university' and 'in the Government sectors' instead of 'in the government sector'. Frequent minor errors in grammar, prepositions, and punctuation persist and cause occasional distraction for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering basic agreement rules, article usage, and sentence variety.
