Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the task only partially, as some information is inaccurate, under-developed, or missing. While the writer attempts an overview by mentioning the 52% full-time work figure and the highest salary bracket, key details from the visual data are misread or poorly reported. For instance, the statement that 'the percentage of full-time postgrad study and not known were equal' is inaccurate, as full-time postgrad study stands at 8% and unemployed is 12% while not known is also 8%. Furthermore, the description of the salary table becomes confusing and mechanical, failing to properly synthesize the trends for freelance consultants, government sector, and private companies. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to ensure all data points are read correctly and that key features, such as the salary differences across employment types, are clearly highlighted and supported with accurate figures.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organization with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion, but the text lacks a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is frequently faulty or mechanical. For example, the transition 'Meanwhile' is used rather loosely to introduce the table data, and linking expressions like 'and vice virsa' are used inaccurately. Referencing is also unclear in places, such as 'other account for least percentage' and 'private sectors had differnt in case different salary in eacy range,' which disrupts the logical flow of ideas. To improve coherence, the writer should use a wider variety of appropriate cohesive devices and ensure that each paragraph builds logically upon the previous one with clear signposting.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The writer attempts some less common terms such as 'anthropologists', 'consultants', and 'unemployment status', but these are offset by frequent spelling and word-choice errors, including 'anthrpologists', 'dallors', 'whos' instead of 'who' or 'whose', and 'differnt'. Additionally, repetitive phrasing such as 'different from one another' and 'in case of range' restricts the lexical range. To achieve a higher score, the writer needs to expand their vocabulary related to data reporting, improve precision in word choice, and eliminate spelling mistakes that can cause difficulty for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writing displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences and basic descriptive clauses. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to numerous errors in grammar and punctuation. Examples of errors include subject-verb agreement issues ('the salaries of anthrpologists graduates... were totally different', 'percentage... are those whos work'), missing articles ('perform two task'), and awkward prepositional usage ('salaries between 25,000 to 49,999'). These frequent errors can cause difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer should practice forming accurate complex sentences, master verb-subject agreements, and pay close attention to prepositions and plurals.
