THe pie chart illustrates the proportion of Anthropology graduates after completing graduation from a specific university. In contrast, the given table illustrates the salaries of anthropology graduates from various fields.
Overall, pie charts represent several jobs types including unemployed, but one half of the graduates are working as full time workers in different sectors. Furthermore, the table shows the more freelance consultants are earning higher than others employment sectors.
Regarding the after completing graduation 52 percent of the employers work as full time. Also, part time work has 15 percent of total shares, but 12 percent of graduates remain without jobs. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by presenting an overview of the pie chart and the table, and reporting key features and comparisons. However, some aspects are more fully developed than others, placing the response at this level. For instance, the overview mentions that 'one half of the graduates are working as full time workers' (which correctly notes the 52% figure), but the rest of the overview is slightly simplistic. Key features such as the dominance of full-time work and the salary breakdown for government sectors versus private companies are covered, but certain details are slightly unclear or contain minor inaccuracies, such as stating that 'more than 80 percent of total employers' earn from $75,000 to $100,000 as freelance consultants, whereas the chart data refers to percentages within categories rather than total employers. Overall, the main trends are identified, but development and data precision need more extension to reach higher bands.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response demonstrates a coherent overall arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the essay into an introduction, an overview, and separate body paragraphs for the chart and the table. Information and ideas are generally logically sequenced. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. Transitional phrases like 'Regarding the after completing graduation' and 'However, the table has four types of salaries data' feel awkward and repetitive. Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the use of 'employers' instead of 'employees' or 'graduates', which disrupts the logical flow of ideas. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate the visual elements, but smoother cohesive devices and clearer referencing would enhance the overall progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common terms such as 'proportion', 'freelance consultants', and 'government sector'. However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word formation. For example, terms like 'postgrade' (postgraduate), 'files' (fields), 'employers' (employees), and 'unknown workers' (not known) show a lack of precision. Additionally, spelling and word-choice errors occur throughout the text, such as 'pays lesser'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score because control over less common vocabulary is inconsistent and sometimes awkward.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writing exhibits a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating that the student can structure sentences with varying complexity, such as 'Furthermore, the table shows the more freelance consultants are earning higher than others employment sectors.' There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, but they rarely impede communication. Examples of grammatical errors include preposition and article issues ('after completing graduation', 'in different sectors including private and the government'), incorrect comparative forms ('the more freelance consultants are earning higher'), and pluralization/agreement errors ('others employment sectors', 'private firms pays'). A greater variety of error-free complex sentences and tighter control over basic grammatical boundaries are needed to advance.
