Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, stopping short at 111 words, which significantly restricts the scope of the answer. Furthermore, the task is only partially addressed. While the introduction attempts to outline the charts, the body paragraphs fail to adequately report the main features or make relevant comparisons between the data sets. The description of the graduate destinations is incomplete, and the salary table data is entirely omitted from the body paragraphs. Key information is therefore missing, and the ideas presented are limited and under-developed, keeping the response at a low level for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organization attempted, such as providing an introductory overview, but there is no clear overall progression across the text. Cohesive devices are minimal, inadequate, and sometimes awkward, as seen in the abrupt transitions between paragraphs. Paragraphing is attempted, but the body paragraphs are fragmented and lack internal cohesion. Referencing and logical sequencing are weak, meaning the text does not flow smoothly as a cohesive unit. To move higher, the writer needs to ensure ideas are logically linked and paragraph structure is fully developed to guide the reader through the data.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic concepts related to the prompt, such as 'Anthropology graduates' and 'full time workers'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'professional career ... after one year of the graduation', 'working from five years', and the spelling error 'perentages'. Less common vocabulary is attempted with inaccuracy, and the range is not wide enough to discuss the visual data with precision. To improve, the writer should focus on precise collocations, correct prepositions associated with time and data, and careful proofreading to eliminate spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with occasional attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with article use, prepositions, and phrasing, such as 'the provided table data describes the income of Anthropologists who are working from five years' and 'slightly higher percentagewhich is unemployed that is 12%'. These errors can cause some difficulty for the reader. To achieve a higher band, the writer must increase grammatical accuracy across a wider variety of complex sentence structures and improve punctuation control.
