Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response attempts to address both parts of the task by summarizing the chart regarding graduate destinations and the table showing salaries. However, the coverage is only partial and uneven. For instance, the student misinterprets the percentage for full-time work, stating that 'More than half percentile of scholars were full time employers' (misreading full-time workers), and struggles to accurately explain the salary data in the final paragraph. While an overview is attempted ('majority of gradutes were worked as full time employer'), key features and comparisons are not fully or accurately developed, keeping the response at a limited level of task fulfillment.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response displays some organization with a clear paragraph structure separating the introduction, overview, chart details, and table details. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward transitions and mechanical or faulty referencing, such as 'Moving ahead,' and 'whose income between 25000-49999 were by 5%'. Cohesive devices are used, but they are occasionally inaccurate or repetitive, and referencing is not always clear, which prevents the essay from achieving a more fluid and logical progression throughout.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and contains frequent noticeable errors in spelling, word choice, and word formation that cause some difficulty for the reader. Examples include 'oictorial chat' instead of pictorial chart, 'gradutes' for graduates, 'cotinues' for continuous, 'obsvered' for observed, and 'upsurged' used inappropriately. The student attempts some less common vocabulary related to the prompt, but inaccuracies in collocation and spelling restrict the lexical range and precision needed for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response shows a limited range of sentence structures with frequent grammatical errors that can cause difficulty for the reader. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, such as 'majority of gradutes were worked' and 'salaries increased after 5 year work... whose income between 25000-49999 were by 5%'. Attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in prepositions and plurals occur regularly throughout the text, reflecting a basic control of grammar.
