Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses the task partially by attempting to cover both the chart and the table. An overview is present, noting that most graduates entered full-time work and outlining earnings after five years, though phrasing like 'more than laks' is unclear. Key features are selected, such as the 52% in full-time work and the salary distributions across sectors. However, some details are under-developed or imprecise, and comparisons between the data sets are minimal. To move to a higher band, the response would need to present a clearer, more fully developed overview and extend the comparisons between graduate destinations and their corresponding salaries across different employment types.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is some basic organization with an introductory paragraph, an overview, and body paragraphs discussing different parts of the visual data. However, the overall progression lacks clarity, and logical transitions between sentences and paragraphs are weak. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or are sometimes inaccurate, as seen in the abrupt shifts between data points without smooth connecting phrases. Paragraphing is attempted, but sentences often feel disjointed rather than forming a cohesive whole. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to improve the logical flow between ideas, use a wider range of cohesive devices more accurately, and ensure that referencing is clear throughout the text.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word form, such as 'charet' for chart, 'difeerent fild' for different field, 'tabel' for table, 'catagory', 'salaray', 'numer', 'weges', and 'goverment'. These errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary related to the visual data, inaccuracies prevent effective control. To improve this criterion, the student must expand their range of vocabulary, improve spelling accuracy, and ensure that word forms and collocations are used correctly in an academic context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response shows a very limited range of structures, with mostly simple sentences and frequent attempts at complex sentences that contain grammatical faults. There are frequent errors in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles, such as 'More than half students', 'just few learners', 'After five year of work', and 'the number of studnt who continew'. Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent. These frequent errors cause difficulty for the reader and impede comprehension in places. To reach a higher band, the writer must demonstrate better control over basic grammatical structures, reduce error frequency across simple and complex sentences, and pay closer attention to plurals and prepositions.
