Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response only partially addresses the task requirements. First, it fails to meet the minimum length requirement, cutting off mid-sentence in the final paragraph at just 127 words. Second, while the introduction provides an overview and the body paragraph attempts to report figures from the pie chart regarding graduate destinations, the response is incomplete because it omits the entire table showing the salaries of anthropologists after five years. Key features are therefore presented only partially, and comparisons are not adequately made across all parts of the visual data. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 150 words and address all visual components presented in the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organization with an introductory sentence and body paragraphs, but the overall progression is limited by the incomplete nature of the response. Cohesive devices are attempted, such as 'At a glance', 'It can be seen that', and 'Furthermore', but some are used mechanically or awkwardly, as seen in phrases like 'nearly together standing at'. Paragraphing is used to separate the chart data from the table section, but because the text breaks off abruptly, the logical structure remains unfinished. To achieve a higher band, you need to ensure that every part of the prompt is fully developed with smooth, natural transitions and a clear, complete overarching structure.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for basic communication, but it is limited and contains noticeable errors in word choice and collocation. Examples include 'graduated learners' instead of 'graduates', 'working eniveronment' with a spelling error, and 'unknown area of students' instead of 'unknown destination'. Phrases like 'accounted lowest share' also lack necessary prepositions or articles ('accounted for the lowest share'). To improve, you should expand your range of vocabulary by incorporating more precise academic terms and collocations related to statistical data, while paying careful attention to accurate word forms and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writing displays a limited range of sentence structures with frequent errors that occasionally impede understanding. There are notable issues with prepositions and phrasing, such as 'what Anthropology graduates ... did after completion of their graduation in one university' and 'income generated of the anthropologists'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage also show lapses, such as 'large proportion of learners were' and 'government sector had'. Complex structures are attempted but often result in awkward or ungrammatical phrasing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, accurate use of articles and prepositions, and ensuring verb forms agree correctly with their subjects.
