Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both visuals and report the destination figures accurately, including the largest share in full-time work (52%) and the smallest in part-time work alongside postgraduate study (5%). The salary percentages are also correctly presented for all three employment types. Your overview identifies the main destination pattern and notes that government employees tend to earn more, which is supported by the 50% in the highest salary band. However, that comparison could be more precise: freelance consultants also have 40% in the top band, and the table shows a useful contrast with private-company employees, whose largest group earns $50,000–74,999. Develop this overview with one or two clear comparisons across the salary categories rather than mainly listing figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on graduate destinations, and a final paragraph on salaries. Phrases such as “Looking first” and “Turning to the salaries” guide the reader effectively between the visuals, and the information is generally grouped logically. To make the organisation more cohesive, connect related figures through comparisons rather than presenting each category in a sequence. For example, after reporting the government salary distribution, you could contrast its 50% in the highest band with the 30% for private-company employees. Some references, such as “who did full time work,” are not fully clear or natural, so more precise subject references would strengthen the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “accounted for,” “represented,” “salary range,” and “compensation.” These choices help communicate the data, and the meaning remains clear. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or informal, such as “student data were unknown” and “government employe accounted for” when describing percentages of graduates or salary bands. Spelling and word-form slips, including “completeing,” “freelancer employe,” and “employe,” also reduce precision. Aim for consistent terms such as “graduates,” “employees,” and “the proportion earning,” and use the salary-band labels exactly so the description sounds more precise and academic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including the contrast in “while the table compares…” and the overview sentence beginning “Overall, it is evident that…”. Most of the data can be understood, but some grammatical errors recur. Several clauses omit a subject or verb, as in “while who did part time work made up 15%” and “Part time worker with postgrad study accounted for 5%.” There are also article and agreement problems in “student who did full time job” and “employee from government sector getting higher compensation.” Improve these by using complete noun phrases and finite verbs—for example, “graduates who worked part-time accounted for 15%” and “government employees received the highest salaries.” Check punctuation and spacing around percentages as well.
