Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main destination category and include several relevant salary figures, so the response addresses both visuals. However, the overview contains a major misreading: “more than a half students did part time work” should refer to full-time work, which accounts for 52%. The least common destination is correctly identified as part-time work with postgraduate study, but the statement that government employees earned the most is too broad: 50% of government employees were in the top salary band, while 40% of freelance consultants were also there. The figure “85” for full-time postgraduate study and “not known” is incorrect; both are 8%. The account also omits useful comparisons, especially the salary distributions across all three employment types. Select accurate key features and report them clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph for each visual. Sequencing within the destination paragraph is generally understandable, and phrases such as “To begin with” and “furthermore” signal movement between points. However, the progression is weakened by the inaccurate overview and by the abrupt ending after one private-company figure. The salary paragraph lists selected numbers without a clear comparison of the three employment groups, while “while” is used to connect facts that are not always directly contrasted. Improve cohesion by grouping related salary bands and comparing categories systematically, and use paragraph links that reflect the relationship between ideas rather than simply adding another point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “graduates,” “unemployed,” “postgrad study,” and “earned,” and you attempt to describe proportions with “proportion” and “portion.” However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make the report less precise: “mesured,” “thee,” “partimee,” “postgard,” and “Givernment.” Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “the least student” and “earned highest among the all.” Use standard chart language and accurate category names consistently. For example, “the smallest proportion” is more suitable than “the least student,” while “salary band” can help you describe the table precisely. Proofreading spelling and collocations would make your meaning easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a contrast with “while” and the clause “which is highest among the all.” However, errors occur frequently and sometimes make relationships unclear. The opening sentence lacks a clear grammatical structure (“charts illustrates Anthropology graduates did”), and “after the completing degree” has an incorrect article and verb pattern. Subject–verb agreement is also inconsistent in “The pie and Table charts illustrates,” while phrases such as “52% of students worked as a full-time” need a suitable noun or a different construction. The final destination sentence is incomplete, ending with “same at 85.” Practise accurate sentence frames for reporting percentages, and check agreement, articles, and sentence completion.
