Student answer (Band 6.0)
The pie chart and table illustrates what Anthropology students did after completing their degree from a university and how much they will be able to earn after 5 years.
Overall, most of the Anthropology graduates were able to work full time. Half of the anthropologists working in government sectors will earn most of the money in 5 years.
After completing the undergraduate degree course about 52 percent of graduates (more than a half) worked full time. After that people with part-time work were almost 15 percent and people who also included postgrad study along with part time were approximately 5 percent. Moreover unemployed graduates were almost 12 percent and the full-time postgrads and the unkown ones were at 8 percent respectively..
The salaries were most government sector with 50% of people having [redacted phone] plus dollars. The least money people made were 5% of both government and freelance which made about 25000 to 49999 dollars. The private companies ranged in mid from 25000 dollars to some even [redacted phone] dollars and more.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both the graduates’ destinations and the salary table, and your overview identifies full-time work as the largest destination and the government sector’s $100,000+ group as prominent. Most destination figures are reported accurately. However, the salary discussion is selective and sometimes unclear: “most government sector with 50% of people having 100000 plus dollars” does not clearly explain that this is the largest salary band for government employees, while the table also shows 40% of freelance consultants in both the $75,000–99,999 and $100,000+ bands. The claim that private-company salaries “ranged in mid” is vague and omits the useful comparison that 35% earned $50,000–74,999. Develop the overview and comparisons more precisely across both visuals.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate discussion of destinations and salaries. This makes the information easy to follow, and transitions such as “Overall,” “After completing,” and “Moreover” help signal progression. The organisation is generally coherent, but some links are mechanical or imprecise, particularly “After that,” which suggests a sequence even though the categories are not stages. The salary paragraph also moves from government to the lowest bands and then to private companies without a clear comparative structure. Grouping related salary figures by employment type or salary range, and using explicit comparisons such as “by contrast” or “similarly,” would make the progression more controlled and cohesive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “graduates,” “postgrad study,” “unemployed,” and “salaries,” so the main information is generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “ranged in mid,” but this expression is not idiomatic and makes the comparison unclear. Other choices, including “will be able to earn” and “most of the money,” are imprecise for describing a table of salary distributions. “Unkown” is misspelled, and “100000 plus dollars” would be clearer in standard salary notation. Aim for accurate collocations and a wider set of comparison terms, such as “accounted for,” “salary bracket,” and “the highest proportion.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some more developed structures, for example, “After completing the undergraduate degree course about 52 percent of graduates … worked full time.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors reduce accuracy. In the opening, the compound subject “The pie chart and table” requires “illustrate,” not “illustrates.” The phrase “people who also included postgrad study” has an unclear subject and structure; “graduates combining part-time work with postgraduate study” would be more controlled. In “The salaries were most government sector,” the sentence pattern is incomplete, and “the least money people made were 5%” does not correctly connect the percentage to the salary band. Check agreement, sentence completeness, and punctuation, including the doubled full stop after “respectively.”
