Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You cover both visuals and identify the main destination correctly: full-time work accounts for 52%, while the overview notes that government employment is strongest at the highest salary level. However, several figures are misreported. The 8% categories are full-time postgraduate study and “not known”; you instead assign 8% to part-time work plus postgraduate study, which is 5%, and then give full-time postgraduate study 5%. The salary comparison also says private companies have 30% earning $100,000 or more, but this is correct; however, the overview’s claim that government is the “best option” is a broad judgement rather than a neutral summary. Select the key patterns accurately and distinguish the categories more carefully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: you discuss the pie chart, move to the salary table, and finish with an overall statement. This helps the reader follow the two visuals. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some comparisons are difficult to track because several figures and categories are packed into long sentences. For example, the sentence beginning “Turing to the table” combines the government, freelance and private-sector figures without clearly separating the comparisons. Linking words such as “whereas,” “as compared with” and “while” are attempted, but are sometimes repetitive or do not make the relationship precise. Group related salary bands together and use clearer topic sentences and references to improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “unemployed,” “freelance consultants,” “government sector” and “percentage,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and many word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make parts of the report awkward or unclear. Examples include “saleries,” “coverd,” “postgraded study,” “more propertion” and “capicity to earn.” Phrases such as “mostly more than half is covered by full time employers” also do not express the chart category naturally. Aim for accurate terms such as “graduates,” “share,” “salary band” and “accounted for,” and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make comparisons easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use subordinate clauses and comparison structures, but control is inconsistent. Errors occur in basic sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation. For instance, “The pie chart illustrates that anthropology graduates … did” is missing a clear object or complement, while “the table compare” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The sentence “part time work plus postgraded study and not known are having same number” also has an unclear grammatical relationship between the categories. Commas and spacing are frequently misplaced, and sentence boundaries are not always clear. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “while” or “whereas.”
