Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the two visuals and report several destination figures accurately, including full-time work at 52%, part-time work at 15%, and unemployment at 12%. However, the response gives no meaningful overview of the main patterns, and the table is essentially left unreported: it stops after introducing freelance consultants and does not compare salary bands or employment sectors. The opening overview merely lists categories rather than highlighting key features. This is therefore a minimal response to the task, with only partial coverage of the information. To improve, summarise the dominant destination and the broad salary pattern, then select and compare key table figures—for example, the high-income shares in government and freelance work.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic sequence: it introduces the chart, discusses graduate destinations, and then turns to the salary table. Paragraph breaks and linking expressions such as “Overall,” “Morever,” and “Furthermore” show an attempt to organise the information. However, progression is limited because the overview repeats the task description instead of summarising the main features, and the final paragraph ends abruptly after “which salaries if”. Several transitions are mechanical, while the list of destination categories does not develop into a clear comparison. Organise the response into a concise overview followed by focused paragraphs on destinations and salaries, and ensure each paragraph is completed and connected to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “graduates,” “unemployed,” “postgrad study,” “salaries,” and “employment,” so the reader can identify the subject matter. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “there are different six types of work” and “people who do full time work.” Spelling errors, including “didi,” “finsihing,” and “Morever,” also reduce accuracy. Some wording does not fit the intended meaning, as in “the five years work salaries in anthropologists.” Use more precise terms such as “destinations,” “salary brackets,” and “graduates employed in each sector,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with connectors, for example, “Morever there ared 52 percent of people who do full time work however…” However, grammatical control is weak and errors occur frequently. Examples include “the chart show” instead of “the chart shows,” “there are 12 percent of people are unemployed,” and “8 percent of people's are not known.” The opening sentence also has an unclear construction, and the final sentence is incomplete. Most sentences rely on basic patterns, with limited accurate control of clauses and punctuation. Practise forming comparisons with a clear subject and verb—for example, “Full-time work was the most common destination, at 52%”—and proofread agreement, articles, possessives, and sentence endings.
