Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both parts of the task and provide a clear overview: full-time work is the largest destination, while part-time work combined with postgraduate study is the smallest, and government employees tend to earn more. Most figures are reported accurately, including the 52% in full-time work and the government-sector shares of 50% at $100,000+ and 30% at $75,000–99,999. However, there are two important data errors: 8% is described as “unknown” (the chart shows 8% not known and 12% unemployed), and freelance consultants earning $75,000–99,999 are reported as 30%, rather than 40%. The overview and comparisons are relevant, but fuller coverage of the destination categories and more precise salary comparisons would make the report more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for graduate destinations and salaries. This makes the two visual elements easy to follow, and linking phrases such as “Regarding the graduates destination” and “Look at the table” signal the shift in focus. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “remaining 5% was unknown” does not clearly refer to the chart categories and also confuses the figures. The overview’s comparison of government salaries is not developed until the final paragraph, while the salary paragraph moves through sectors without a consistent comparison pattern. Use clearer references and organise the salary figures by income band or sector to strengthen progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “full-time,” “postgrad study,” “proportion,” “government sector,” and “earning,” so the main information is generally understandable. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “the anthropology gets,” “part-time employes,” “the earning of the employes,” and “didn't get the salaries as much as other sectors.” Spelling errors such as “institude,” “ths,” and “employes” also reduce precision. Some repetition of “earning” and “employees” limits flexibility. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “graduates’ salaries,” “employees earned,” and “were more likely to earn,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and more complex sentences, including comparisons with “while” and a relative clause in “which is almost half the figure.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “The table show” and “50% of employes earns,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect, and “8% graduates are working as a full-time postgrad study,” which has an incomplete or incorrectly formed structure. Articles and plural forms are also inconsistent, as in “a institude” and “remaining 5%.” Practise building accurate sentences around percentages: for example, “Eight per cent pursued full-time postgraduate study.” More consistent agreement, articles, and sentence construction would improve control.
