Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify two relevant headline features: full-time work was the most common destination, and government employment had the largest share earning $100,000 or more. You also report several destination figures accurately, including 52%, 15% and 12%. However, the response addresses the task only partially: it stops before completing the discussion of destinations and gives no salary-band comparisons beyond the top salary category. The overview also says private companies were “the least” at the top salary level, but does not give the figure or compare it with freelance consultants. The response is 99 words, below the required 150, so important information is omitted. Complete both chart and table summaries and select key comparisons across the salary bands.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph beginning to describe graduate destinations. The sequence from the chart to the table is understandable, and “Overall” signals a summary. However, the response ends abruptly at “the data for,” leaving the final idea incomplete and preventing a clear progression through the information. The table is mentioned in the introduction but is not developed in the body, and the chart details are not grouped into a complete account. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the overview, destinations and salary comparisons, and connect the selected figures with clear comparisons rather than leaving the reader to infer them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “proportion,” “salary range,” “employment categories” and “unemployed,” so the topic is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal wording, such as “breakdown” and “completion.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices reduce precision: “Pi chart” should be “pie chart,” “alumini” should be “alumni” or “graduates,” and “choosed” is not the correct form. Phrases such as “leading in giving” and “least in giving” are awkward for describing salary distributions. Choose precise reporting language such as “accounted for,” “earned” and “the highest proportion,” and check spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response includes some simple sentence patterns and an attempt at a more complex structure in “There is another table showing…,” but grammatical control is inconsistent. For example, “what students did after their graduation” has an awkward possessive construction, while “52% choosed working full time” combines an incorrect verb form with an unsuitable verb pattern. “Government sector is leading…” also lacks an article and uses an unclear tense for a static table. The final sentence is incomplete, so it cannot communicate the intended comparison. These errors make parts of the response difficult to follow. Practise accurate past-tense reporting for the chart and present-tense descriptions for the table, and proofread each sentence for complete clauses and correct verb forms.
