Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover both visuals and include several accurate figures, such as 52% in full-time work, 12% unemployed, and the starting salary shares of 5%, 5%, and 10% across the three employment types. However, the overview misreads the data: the pie chart shows destinations at one point, not that employment “is increased” or study “is reduced.” The table also gives salary-band distributions, not salary increases; for example, 50% of government employees earned $100,000 or more, rather than their salaries increasing by 50%. The final comparison is unclear because it does not identify which figures belong to which salary bands. Select the main contrasts and describe them accurately, especially the highest salary band and the differences between sectors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the chart and table. This gives the reader a basic route through the information, and phrases such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” signal a shift between visuals. However, progression within the table paragraph is weak: “At the end” does not clearly connect the salary figures to the relevant bands, and “others both of them” makes the comparison difficult to follow. The overview also combines unrelated claims without a clear distinction between destinations and salary distributions. Use one focused overview, then group related figures logically and use explicit references such as “in the $100,000+ band” to make comparisons clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full-time work,” “unemployed,” “salary,” and “government sectors,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes obscuring the intended meaning. “The strength of unemployment persons” is not a natural way to describe a proportion, while “salary … was increased” incorrectly suggests a change over time. “Starting salary” also misrepresents the table, which reports the distribution across salary bands after five years of work. Aim for precise reporting language such as “accounted for,” “earned,” and “the proportion in the highest salary band.” Check spelling and word forms, including “pie chart” and “paid,” to improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “while” and a sentence beginning “Although” is not present; most information is conveyed through short statements. However, errors in sentence construction and agreement are frequent enough to make some relationships unclear. The opening sentence lacks a clear grammatical structure (“illustrates what did … graduates … while the gives table”), and “full-time work … have high percentage” has subject–verb agreement and article problems. There are also tense and form errors in “private companies payed her employees” and “the salary … were increased.” Practise building accurate comparison sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use present tense for chart descriptions, for example, “Full-time work accounts for 52%.”
