Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main destination, full-time work at 52%, and note that government employees are most likely to earn $100,000 or more, both relevant overview points. You also report several destination figures accurately. However, coverage of the salary table is partial: the comparison that private-company employees most commonly earn $50,000–74,999 (35%) is missing, and the salary figures for freelance and government workers are not clearly compared across bands. The statement that 30% of private-company workers earn $100,000+ is accurate, but “only 10% ... get between 25-50K” should be $25,000–49,999. Some descriptions, such as “proposition of freelance student,” make the data difficult to interpret. Select the key contrasts and report each category precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for graduate destinations and salaries. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven, particularly in the final paragraph, where freelance, government and private-company figures are mixed without a clear comparison. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In contrast of that” are used, but the relationships they signal are not always logical or clear. Some sentences also run together, for example the destination figures after “While 15%...” and “Other then that...” would be easier to follow as clearly separated comparisons. Grouping salary bands or employment types systematically would make the organisation more coherent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full-time work,” “unemployed,” “postgrad study” and “salaries,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear. “Proposition” is repeatedly used where “proportion” is intended, while “freelance student” does not accurately describe a worker category. Phrases such as “post work life” and “did the same but also did part-time work with that” are imprecise for describing the chart. Spelling errors, including “illustates,” “graduationg” and “umemployed,” are also noticeable. Use standard chart language and check spelling and word forms to make comparisons more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some sentence variety, including an overview with a contrast and sentences beginning “While” and “Regarding students.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns, agreement and punctuation. For example, “most proposition of students (52%) works” has problems with both the noun phrase and subject–verb agreement; “15% of students works” repeats the agreement error. The sentence “While 15% of students works as part-time, but around 12%...” combines clauses incorrectly, and several sentences lack spaces after full stops. Articles and plural forms are also inconsistent. Build accurate simple sentences first, then use a smaller number of controlled complex structures to express comparisons.
