Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the main destination category correctly: full-time work accounts for 52%, while part-time work combined with postgraduate study is the smallest group at 5%. You also report the other destination figures, although the overview is mostly a list rather than a clear summary of the main patterns. The salary table is not meaningfully described: statements such as “freelance consultants earned more” and government workers “earned least” are unclear and do not report the income-band figures or explain that government employees had the largest share in the top bracket. The response is also 19 words below the required minimum. To improve, give a concise overview of both visuals and support it with accurate comparisons from the salary table.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an opening sentence, a paragraph about graduate destinations, and a final paragraph introducing salaries. This helps the reader recognise the two visuals. However, progression is limited because the destination paragraph largely lists categories one after another, and the salary paragraph ends after broad, unclear comparisons. Linking expressions such as “Contrary to that” and “Some also” are attempted, but the relationships between ideas are not always precise. The table discussion would be clearer if organised by income bands or by employment sector, with comparisons connected explicitly. Use separate, focused paragraphs for the overview and the key details, and ensure each reference clearly identifies the group being compared.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “graduates,” “full-time work,” “postgrad studies,” “freelance consultants,” and “government sector,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several choices or spelling errors make parts difficult to interpret: “life of anthropology graduates” is imprecise, “making around 5 percent” is unnatural, and “earned more oppoite” does not specify what they earned more than. There are also errors such as “amoung,” “Remaning,” and “THe.” Aim for precise reporting language and accurate spelling, using phrases such as “accounted for,” “salary bracket,” and “the highest proportion.” Avoid vague descriptions like “in mid” when comparing sectors.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can usually identify the intended topic. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, particularly in sentence boundaries, articles, agreement, and punctuation. For example, “Overall, most of graduates have full time work around 52 percent of them” joins ideas awkwardly and lacks clear sentence structure; “some remained unemployed and some are not known” also shifts tense. Several sentences run together without spaces after punctuation, while the final paragraph contains incomplete or poorly formed comparisons. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use consistent past-tense reporting where appropriate. A wider range of accurately controlled sentence patterns would make the information easier to follow.
