Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the main destination, noting that full-time work is the largest category at 52%, and you mention unemployment at 12% and part-time work at 15%. However, coverage of the chart and table is incomplete and several comparisons are unclear or inaccurate. The statement that full-time postgraduate study and “not know” are almost the same gives 8% and 5%, but “not known” is also 8%, while 5% refers to part-time work plus postgraduate study. The salary discussion does not report the key pattern across all four bands: government employment has the largest share earning $100,000 or more (50%), while private companies have the largest share in the $50,000–74,999 band (35%). A clearer overview and accurate, selected comparisons are needed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on graduate destinations and a final paragraph on salaries. This gives the reader some organisation, and transitions such as “First” and “Furthermore” signal movement between points. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow, especially in the salary paragraph, where figures and employment types are introduced without a clear comparison. Linking words such as “However” do not always express a logical contrast, and the overview combines several ideas in a confusing way. Improve cohesion by grouping related figures, using clear topic sentences, and referring consistently to the chart and table. This would make the existing paragraph structure more effective.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “destination,” “unemployed,” “full-time work,” “salary” and “employment,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice problems strain the reader: “Anthroplogy,” “avarage,” “percantage,” “freelnce” and “recive” are examples. Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “has half” and “40 to 505 salaries,” which do not clearly describe the data. Aim to use accurate terms for proportions and salary bands, and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions such as “accounted for,” “the largest proportion” and “earned at least” would help you report comparisons clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
There are attempts to use longer sentences and contrast, for example, “While the unemployed has 12 percent” and “However, full-time postgrad study and not know are almost same.” Nevertheless, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors are frequent enough to make some relationships unclear. The opening fragment, “And give information about their salaries,” is not a complete sentence. Other problems include “after completed their studies,” “the most are student doing,” and “the government sector has also same,” which show difficulties with verb forms, agreement and sentence construction. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent. Practise building complete sentences around one clear comparison, then check subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms.
