Student answer (Band 6.5)
The pie chart and the table illustrate the destinations of Anthropology graduates of a university with three major categories of employement alone with their salary ranges in dollars after five years' work.
Overall, most students successfully secured a full-time job. The category of government sector was ranked as highly paid employement type, while private companies were the lowest paying category.
The given pie chart shows that 52% of graduates worked as a full-time employee after completing their graduation. The part-time workers were the second popular destination of graduates. Twelve percent of graduates remained unemployed, while fate of 8% graduates id unknown. Another 8% graduates persue full-time postgraduate study whereas five percent worked as part-time worker along with continuing postgraduate study.
The table represents the three categories of employement. The data shows highest number of government employes received salary more than $100,000. On the contrast, private companies pay less salaries with only 30% of workers receiving more than $100,000, while this figure accounted for 40% for freelance consultants.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover both visuals and identify the main destination accurately: full-time work accounts for 52%, while unemployment is 12% and the two postgraduate categories are smaller. Your overview also attempts a comparison of salary outcomes. However, the claim that government employment is the “highly paid” category is too broad: it has the largest share earning $100,000 or more (50%), but freelance consultants also have a substantial 40% in that bracket. The table’s middle salary bands are largely omitted, and “private companies were the lowest paying” is not fully supported, since their distribution is mixed rather than uniformly lowest. More precise comparisons across all three employment types would make the report more complete and developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on graduate destinations, and a final paragraph on salaries. This makes the two visuals easy to distinguish, and the sequence within the destination paragraph is generally logical. Some linking is mechanical, however, with repeated openings such as “The given pie chart shows” and “The table represents.” The final paragraph also moves quickly from government salaries to private companies and freelance consultants, without comparing the salary bands systematically. Use clearer transitions to group the highest and lower salary brackets, and ensure each paragraph develops one comparison before moving to the next. These changes would make progression more consistently smooth.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “destinations,” “salary ranges,” “unemployed,” and “postgraduate study,” so the meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “secured” and “accounted for.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “employement alone with” appears to mean employment outcomes alongside salary data, “second popular” should be “second most popular,” and “fate” is unsuitable for an unknown outcome. Spelling errors such as “employement,” “employes,” “id,” and “persue” also reduce precision. Aim for accurate, natural reporting language and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use both simple statements and more complex forms, including the contrast introduced by “while” and the clause “with only 30% of workers receiving more than $100,000.” Most sentences remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “the fate of 8% graduates id unknown” has an incorrect article pattern and verb form; “the highest number of government employes received salary” has problems with number and article use; and “private companies pay less salaries” has an incorrect comparative construction. The opening sentence also has an unclear structure. Practise accurate plural forms, articles, and comparative patterns, while retaining the complex sentence structures you already attempt.
