Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the main destination, full-time work, and report several relevant percentages, including 52% in full-time work and 12% unemployed. However, the response addresses the task only partially: it omits the 8% in full-time postgraduate study and gives little meaningful comparison of the salary bands. The statement that “40% of employess were taking 1 lakh salaries” is unclear and does not accurately describe the table: 40% of freelance consultants earned $75,000–99,999, while 40% earned $100,000 or more; the corresponding top-band figures were 50% for government employees and 30% for private-company employees. The response is also 41 words below the required minimum. Include a fuller overview and accurately compare key salary figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation: an opening identifies the chart and table, an overview follows, and figures are then presented. This gives the reader a simple route through the response. However, progression is limited, and the salary information is compressed into a final sentence without a clear comparison across employment types or income bands. Linking is also repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “maximum” and “were,” while “Whereas” does not clearly connect two complete, parallel comparisons. Separate the destination data from the salary data in distinct paragraphs, group related figures, and use precise links such as “by contrast” or “while” to show how the categories compare.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some relevant task vocabulary, including “graduates,” “unemployed,” “full time workers,” and “government sector,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the data difficult to interpret. “Taking 1 lakh salaries” is not a clear way to describe an income band, and “maximum numbers” and “minimum contributers” are awkward for reporting proportions. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “Anthroplogy,” “Minium,” “postgard,” and “hightest.” Use standard terms such as “proportion,” “earned,” and “salary band,” and check spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Most sentences are short and simple, and the response attempts a basic overview structure. However, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “what Anthroplogy graduates done” lacks the appropriate auxiliary and verb form, while “given table represent” has an agreement error and is missing an article. In “maximum number of graduates were full time workers,” the singular subject does not agree with “were”; later, “government sector were earning” also has an agreement problem. Sentence boundaries and capitalisation are inconsistent, as in the lowercase “overall” after a full stop. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and past-tense reporting, then combine ideas using controlled comparison structures.
