Student answer (Band 6.0)
The pie chart given illustrates what the anthropology graduates from a university are persuing after completing their undergraduate degree course while the table presents the data of the salaries of these anthropologists in work since 5 years.
Overall, more than half of the graduates are working full time. The working professionals are working as either freelance consultants or are employees at government sectors or private companies. The salary ranges from 22,500 dollars to more than 100,000 dollars.

On the other hand, there is no data found for 8% of the aluminis, while the other 8% is involved in studying full time.
A small chunk of 12% people are found to be unemployed as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main destination, noting that more than half of graduates entered full-time work, and you report several other categories accurately, including 12% unemployed and 8% in full-time postgraduate study. However, the overview is incomplete and some figures are misinterpreted: 82% is not the share working full- or part-time while studying; those categories total 72% (52% full-time work, 15% part-time work and 5% part-time work with postgraduate study). The salary range is also misstated as starting at $22,500, and the response gives little comparison across salary bands or employment types. The final paragraph selects some top-income figures, but fuller coverage of the table and a clearer overview of its main pattern would make the report more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, details about graduate destinations, and a final paragraph on salaries. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression is uneven: the overview introduces employment types and a salary range, but the body does not develop these points systematically. The sentence beginning “The data collected represents how 82%...” also groups categories inaccurately, making the relationship between the figures unclear. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” and “as well” are used, but the contrast signalled by “On the other hand” is not especially clear. Organise the details into clearer groups and use comparisons to connect related figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “undergraduate degree course,” “salary ranges,” “freelance consultants,” and “government sector.” These terms help communicate the subject, and the meaning is generally understandable. There are, however, several inaccurate or unnatural choices: “persuing” is misspelled, “aluminis” is not the appropriate word for graduates, and “a small chunk” is too informal for an academic report. “The salary ranges from 22,500 dollars to more than 100,000 dollars” is also imprecise, since the table gives salary bands rather than one continuous range. Prefer formal, precise expressions such as “graduates,” “a small proportion,” and “salary bands,” and check spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You show a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, and most sentences communicate their basic meaning. For example, the opening sentence uses a subordinate clause beginning “after completing,” while “The table mentions how half the people...” is a straightforward reporting structure. Some grammatical inaccuracies remain. In the introduction, “the salaries of these anthropologists in work since 5 years” uses an unsuitable time construction; the table refers to salaries after five years of employment. “The data collected represents how...” also has an awkward clause pattern, and “half the people working in the government sector earn more than 100,000” would be clearer with a currency marker and a more precise reporting structure. Aim for accurate, direct sentences when describing time periods and proportions.
