Student answer (Band 6.5)
The pie chart demonstrates the positions Anthropolgy students secured after their degree completion. Further, this anaylsis is extended by the table which highlights the salaries of Anthropolgy students post 5 years of their work experiences in three different types of employment.
Overall, more than half of the students end up securing full time employment post completing their graduation. Then, there are students who either only work part time or continue postgrad studies with part time job and there are also students who are entirely focused towards pursuing their post graduate degree. however, the percentage of such individuals are extremely low and varying compared to the ones doing full time-work which is 52 percent. Further, the table shows that over half of the undergrads in goverment sector earns $100,000+, which is then followed by freelane consultants (40 percent) and private companies (30 percent).
The Pie chart highlights that most undergraduates are determined to work full time as soon as they graduate with 52% of them pursuing full time job. However, 12 percent of the undergraduates are unemployed along with 8 percent whose status of emplyment is unknown. Further, the percentaage of full time post graduate study is more (8 percent) than the one's pursuing post graduate study and along with working part time (5 percent). Lastly, the students doing part-time work has the second highest percentage (15 percent) compared to full-time work.
Moving on, the table explicity shows how the progress of incomes in goverment sector is better when compared with other two sectors. As, it has high concentration of undergraduates earning $75000 and more (30 percent in $75000-99,999 and 50 percent in $100,000+), as compared with free lance consultants as it shows the same percentage of 40 percent in both the categories. However, private companies have more concentration of undergraduates within (10 percent in $25,000-49,999, and 35 percent in $50,000-74,999) as compared to other two sectors. And relatively it also have the lowest proption of undergraduates in the salary bracket of $100,000+ (30 percent).

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
The response covers both visuals and gives a clear overview: full-time work is the largest destination, while government employees most often reach the top salary band. Most figures are reported accurately, including the 52% in full-time work, the 12% unemployed, and the salary distributions. The comparisons between sectors are also relevant, particularly the contrast between private companies’ lower-salary concentration and government’s higher earnings. To make the account more fully developed, clarify that the table describes the salaries of anthropologists in work after five years, rather than implying it covers all undergraduates, and avoid broad claims such as government-sector “progress” being better, since the table shows salary distributions rather than career progression. The overview could also identify unemployment and unknown destinations as notable shares.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the chart and table. This gives the reader a coherent route through the two visuals, and transitions such as “Moving on” signal the shift to the table. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or unclear. The overview repeats details that are then covered again, and the long second paragraph combines several destination categories without a particularly smooth progression. Some links, such as “Then” and “Further,” do not clearly show the relationship between ideas. Improve progression by grouping related destinations and salary bands, and use more precise referencing so that phrases such as “such individuals” have an unmistakable antecedent.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
There is an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “full-time employment,” “unemployed,” “salary bracket,” and “concentration,” which helps communicate the main comparisons. The writer also attempts more formal phrasing, but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “progress of incomes” does not describe a distribution, and “determined to work full time” attributes motivation that the chart does not show. Spelling errors such as “Anthropolgy,” “anaylsis,” “goverment,” and “emplyment” are noticeable, while “freelane” and “proption” also reduce precision. Aim for accurate, neutral reporting language and check spelling carefully; this will make the vocabulary more reliable without requiring more elaborate wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which” and “as,” and the main information is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in agreement and sentence construction. For example, “the percentage of such individuals are” should use a singular verb, while “private companies … it also have” has inconsistent agreement and reference. The sentence beginning “As, it has high concentration” is a fragment, and “over half of the undergrads in government sector earns” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent, as in the lowercase “however” after a full stop. Review sentence boundaries, agreement, and article use while retaining the range of structures attempted.
