Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the main destination, full-time work at 52%, and note that part-time work combined with postgraduate study is the smallest category at 5%. However, coverage of the chart and table is partial, and some comparisons are unclear or inaccurate. For example, you say government salaries rose “from 55 to 50%,” although the table gives separate salary-band shares of 5%, 15%, 30% and 50%; it does not show a change over time. The overview also misses the key salary pattern: government employees have the largest share in the top band, while private-company employees are more concentrated in the $50,000–$74,999 band. Report the table’s categories accurately and compare the distributions rather than describing them as trends.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for graduate destinations and salaries. This gives the reader some guidance. However, progression within the paragraphs is uneven, and several linking expressions do not show the intended relationship. “While” begins a fragment in the overview, and “Following salaries” is an unclear transition. The destination paragraph lists figures without consistently explaining how they compare, while the salary paragraph moves between categories and supposed changes over time. Use clearer topic sentences and group related figures—for example, compare the three employment sectors by their highest salary bands. More accurate, less mechanical linking would make the organisation easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt task-specific vocabulary, including “proportion,” “accounted for,” “salary,” and “government sector,” and the reader can generally identify the topic of each paragraph. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes obscures meaning. “Inclination trend” does not clearly describe a percentage, “dramatically inclination” is not an appropriate phrase, and “Freelances consultants figures grew” misrepresents a table of salary distributions. There are also spelling and form errors, such as “Anthropolopgy,” “Couse,” and “Freelances.” Choose precise terms such as “share,” “percentage,” and “salary band,” and use verbs like “accounted for” or “was highest” rather than implying change where none is shown.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You make some attempts to combine ideas, but sentence structures are limited and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to interpret. For instance, “While, table provides the after five years later data” has problems with articles, word order and sentence construction; “the lowest figures showed in part-time” is also incomplete in form. The overview contains a fragment beginning “While,” and the sentence about government salaries uses an unclear comparison structure. There are also inconsistent or missing articles and punctuation problems, including spaces before commas and full stops. Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences, then check articles, verb forms and punctuation. Simpler, accurate comparisons would improve clarity.
