Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You include both the destination chart and the salary table, and your overview identifies full-time work as the largest destination and combined part-time work and postgraduate study as the smallest. However, a major figure is misreported: full-time work was 52%, not 8%. You also say full-time postgraduate study and the unknown category are both 12%, although each was 8%. These errors undermine the main comparisons. The salary section gives some accurate figures, including the lowest salary shares for freelance consultants and government employees, but it omits the $50,000–$74,999 figures and does not clearly compare the three employment types. Select the key data accurately and summarise the salary pattern more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on graduate destinations and a final paragraph on salaries. This helps the reader identify the two visuals. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, the sentence beginning “The data shows that graduates studying full-time postgraduation” is difficult to follow because it repeats the earlier comparison without clearly distinguishing the two categories. The salary paragraph also moves from low-income figures to the highest band and then to private companies without a consistent comparison pattern. Organise each paragraph around a clear sequence, such as largest-to-smallest destinations and then salary bands across employment types.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “proportion,” “accounted,” “graduates,” and “employment,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There is some variety in how you refer to the categories, but several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “the proportion of graduates did,” “the least number of graduates,” and “with $100,000+ salary.” Spelling errors such as “illutrates,” “diferent,” and “inital” also reduce accuracy. Use standard chart language consistently—for example, “the proportion of graduates who…” and “the smallest share”—and check spelling and natural combinations of words. More precise vocabulary would make the comparisons clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the overall meaning can usually be understood. However, errors occur frequently in sentence structure and grammatical forms. The opening phrase “the proportion of graduates did” is missing a relative construction, while “full-time working graduates had the highest share” lacks a clear grammatical link to the chart data. There are also agreement and article problems in “The salaries … varies” and “a full-time work,” and the sentence about the two 12% categories is awkwardly constructed. These issues sometimes make relationships between figures unclear. Practise building accurate comparison sentences, checking subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms, and use shorter sentences when a longer structure becomes difficult to control.
