Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You report several relevant figures, including 52% in full-time work, 15% in part-time work, and 12% unemployed, and you attempt to compare salary bands across employment types. However, the response only partly covers the task: the destination categories are not all clearly reported, and the salary table is described selectively and sometimes inaccurately. For example, the overview says government employees’ “peak wages” are up to $100,000, but the table shows 50% in the $100,000+ band; “up to” changes the meaning. The final comparison also misattributes figures: 40% of freelance consultants and 30% of private-company employees, not government employees, earn $75,000–99,999. Give a clear overview of the main patterns, then report accurate comparisons from both visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response, moving from an opening and overview to destination figures and then salary details. Some linking language, such as “Lastly,” helps signal progression. However, the overall sequence is difficult to follow because the chart and table information are mixed together, and several sentences join multiple points without clear relationships. The opening also does not establish a precise focus, while “overall” is not set apart clearly as an overview. Group the destination data in one paragraph and the salary comparisons in another, using clear topic sentences and accurate references such as “the former” or “the latter.” This would make the progression easier to follow and reduce the current repetition and abrupt shifts.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “freelance consultants,” “government sector,” “salaries,” and “post graduate study,” so the reader can identify the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes obscuring the intended comparison. “Peak wages” is not a natural way to describe the largest salary category, and “students who are jobless” is less suitable than a neutral employment term. There are also spelling and word-form problems, including “nidea” and “there” for “their.” Aim for precise chart language such as “accounted for,” “salary band,” and “earned,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, but control is inconsistent, and errors frequently make relationships between ideas harder to understand. For example, “The salaries of five years of work experience in the field of anthropologists” is a sentence fragment, while “Only 5% of students after completing their degree started post graduate study also part time work” has an unclear structure and missing grammatical links. Articles, agreement, and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “the 50% of government sector employee” and the run-on sequence beginning “overall, the.” Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and practise structures such as “After five years, 50% of government-sector employees earned…” Proofread sentence boundaries and articles.
