Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover both visuals and identify the main destination, full-time work at 52%, as well as the smaller groups. You also compare salary distributions across the three employment types. However, the overview is partly unclear: saying there is “a rise in incomes” suggests change over time, whereas the table compares salary bands after five years, not income growth. Some details are also misinterpreted. For example, the private-company figures of 35%, 25% and 30% are salary-band shares, not changes in successive years, and the table does not show salaries rising from 5% to 40% or 50%. Make the overview focus on the largest destination and the highest salary bands, then describe the table as a distribution.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview and separate discussion of the chart and table. This gives the reader a generally coherent route through the information. However, the overview repeats “Overall” and combines two different points in a way that is difficult to follow. Connectors such as “On one hand” and “On the other hand” do not express a clear contrast between the figures that follow, while “Moreover” adds another category without a strong relationship to the previous point. The table discussion also moves through figures as if they were changes over time, which weakens progression. Use clearer grouping—for example, employment destinations first, then salary distributions—and link comparisons directly to the categories being compared.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full-time,” “part-time,” “unemployed,” “postgraduate studies” and “freelance consultants,” so the topic is usually understandable. However, the range and control are limited, with repeated use of “incomes” and “anthropologists” where more precise terms would help. Several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “the incomes … have been increased” and “not known community”; the table reports salary bands and the chart category is simply “not known.” Spelling errors such as “empolyees,” “diaplays” and “tabel” are noticeable. Aim to use accurate terms such as “salary distribution,” “share” and “graduates,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses joined with “while” and “but,” and the main message can generally be understood. Some grammatical errors nevertheless make the writing less clear. The opening needs subject–verb agreement (“The pie chart displays”), and phrases such as “what destination … is” and “in last five years” have faulty structure or missing articles. The long final sentence contains several clauses joined without clear punctuation, making the comparisons difficult to track. There are also inconsistent verb forms, as in “have been risen.” Practise accurate sentence boundaries, articles and agreement, and use straightforward present-tense descriptions for the chart and table rather than forcing complex constructions.
