Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main destination category correctly: full-time work accounts for 52%, and you also report the 15% part-time, 12% unemployed and 8% not-known figures. You make a relevant comparison between government and private-sector salaries at the highest band. However, the response only partially covers the task: it omits the freelance-consultant figures and most salary-band comparisons, and it does not clearly summarise the overall salary pattern. The 8% figure is incorrectly described as full-time work plus postgraduate study; it represents full-time postgraduate study, while the combined part-time-work and study group is 5%. The opening repeats the task rather than giving a clear overview. Select the key contrasts accurately and explain them in a concise overview.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is some basic organisation: the response begins with an introduction, then discusses graduate destinations and finally mentions salary information. This gives the reader a rough sense of the two visuals. However, progression is weak because the first paragraph repeats the chart and table descriptions, while the next paragraph gives general comments without developing them. The final paragraph jumps to two salary categories and ends with an unclear conclusion. Linking and reference are also unreliable, as in “So Government sector and private companies provide more salary for her own Employer.” Use a clear sequence—introduction, overview, destination details, then salary comparisons—and connect each figure to the group it describes.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “destination,” “unemployed,” “salaries,” and “government sector,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several repeated or inaccurate expressions make the meaning less precise. “Circular chart” and “pie diagram” repeat the same idea, while “different time zone” does not describe employment destinations. Phrases such as “worker work” and “provide more salary” are unnatural, and “her own Employer” is unclear. Aim for accurate collocations and avoid unnecessary repetition. For example, describe graduates as “employed full time” and compare the “proportion earning” each salary range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but control is inconsistent, and several sentence fragments or faulty constructions make relationships between ideas unclear. The opening “The pie chart illustrates … And provides …” is not a complete, well-joined sentence; the second part should be connected to the first with a suitable conjunction. In “15% worker work part time work,” the plural subject and verb do not agree, and the sentence structure is repetitive. Articles and prepositions are also often missing or misplaced, as in “after 5 years work.” Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, check singular/plural agreement, and practise accurate comparative structures such as “50% of government employees earned…”.
