Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You cover both the graduate destinations and the salary table, and the main figures are generally accurate: full-time work is correctly identified as the largest destination at 52%, and you report the key salary proportions across the three employment types. The overview also highlights the dominance of full-time work and the relatively small share combining part-time work with postgraduate study. This meets the task well, though some comparisons are less fully developed. For example, “a good percentage of students generating handsome revenue” is vague and does not clearly summarise the salary pattern; the table shows that government employees most often earned $100,000 or more, while private-company employees were more concentrated in the $50,000–74,999 band. State these contrasts directly to make the overview more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph on destinations and a final paragraph on salaries. This gives the reader a sensible route through both visuals, and sequencing expressions such as “After graduation” and “After five years of work” help distinguish the data sets. However, some links between ideas are mechanical or unclear, particularly in the salary paragraph, where several figures are joined in long sentences with repeated “while” and “and.” The phrase “freelancer and government sectors had same proportion” also makes the comparison harder to follow. Use shorter, more clearly grouped comparisons—for example, one sentence for the top salary band and another for the lower bands—and ensure each reference clearly identifies the employment category.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “proportion,” “salary,” “unemployed” and “postgraduate study,” so the topic is generally clear. There is also an attempt to vary wording with phrases such as “largest proportion” and “highest ratio.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and reduce precision: “handsome revenue” is unsuitable for describing graduate salaries, “students generating” does not fit the intended meaning, and “recording” is repeatedly used where “accounting for” would be more natural. Spelling and word-form slips such as “earining,” “persue” and “rage” are noticeable. Aim for standard chart language and check spelling; precise, natural phrasing will make the comparisons easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses linked with “while” and “whereas,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, grammatical control is uneven, with errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and verb forms. For example, “more than half students” needs an article, and “the highest ratio of students … were doing job” has problems with agreement and sentence structure. In “freelancers at second position having 40%,” the clause is incomplete, while “students in government and private firms had 30% and 25% respectively” would be clearer with a more controlled comparison. Practise building complete sentences around each comparison, and check articles, plural forms and verb agreement before finishing.
