Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main destination, correctly noting that full-time work accounts for 52%, and include several other figures, such as 15% for part-time work and 12% unemployed. You also attempt to compare salary outcomes across employment types. However, the overview is partly unclear and includes an unsupported claim that private companies had the “lowest employment”; the table compares salary bands, not employment levels. Some salary details are inaccurate or incomplete: government employees’ 50% is in the $100,000+ band, not “$10,0000,” and the response omits the substantial proportions in the middle salary bands. The key features are therefore only partially covered and some comparisons are under-developed. Make the overview precise and report the table’s salary distributions accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the destination chart and salary table. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the overview, where “While least was accounted…” and “Whereas private companies…” do not form clear, complete comparisons. Linking words such as “However” and “Additionally” are used, but some connections are mechanical or do not express the relationship accurately. The salary paragraph also moves between figures without a consistent comparison pattern. Grouping related figures and using clear references—for example, comparing the highest salary band across all three employment types—would make the organisation more coherent.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “proportion,” “destination,” “unemployed,” and “salary,” and attempt formal reporting language such as “accounted” and “contributed.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning unclear. For example, “highest secure of 50%” does not naturally describe a salary share, while “lowest employment” mislabels what the table measures. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “employement,” “universitiy,” “chioce,” and “anthropoplogy.” Use precise terms such as “share,” “salary band,” and “earned,” and check spelling carefully. More accurate collocations would improve clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast structure beginning “While…” and sentences with “However” and “Additionally.” Nevertheless, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors often make relationships between ideas difficult to interpret. Examples include “full-time work graduates contributes,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “the unemployed … was stood at 12%,” which has an incorrect verb construction. Several clauses are incomplete or awkwardly joined, such as “Whereas private companies observed to be…” and “The least graduates was observed…”. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate comparison sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and punctuation before submitting.
