Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover both the graduate destinations and the salary table, and several figures are reported accurately, including 52% in full-time work and the government-sector salary distribution. However, there are important data errors: full-time postgraduate study is 8%, not 15%, and the 15% figure belongs to part-time work. The response also lacks a clear overview of the main patterns, such as full-time work being the largest destination and salaries of $75,000 or more being common in government and freelance roles. The comment that unemployment needs administrative investigation is not supported by the chart and takes space from comparison. To strengthen the response, summarise the key trends first, then select accurate figures to support them.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has two paragraphs, broadly separating graduate destinations from salaries, so the reader can identify the two parts of the task. Within each paragraph, however, information is largely joined into long strings with repeated “and,” and there is little clear progression from the most important feature to supporting details. The salary paragraph moves from government to private companies and then freelance consultants, but the final comparison is vague: “get in between of other 2 sectors” does not explain how their salaries compare. Use a brief overview followed by logically grouped details, and make comparisons explicit. More controlled sentence boundaries and linking phrases would make the organisation easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt relevant vocabulary such as “full time employed,” “unemployed,” “salary,” and “freelance consultant,” showing awareness of the topic. However, the range is limited and many spelling errors—such as “Goverment,” “privet,” “emplyoes,” and “sallry”—make the writing difficult to read. Several expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, including “the big numbers,” “most high paid,” and “get less then all sectors.” Choose standard chart language and check spelling carefully. For example, describe a category as “the largest proportion,” say that a sector “had the highest salaries,” and use “earned” or “received” rather than “get” when reporting pay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to combine information in longer sentences, but these are often faulty, and sentence control is limited. For example, “The chart shows 52% … which is the big numbers, and 15% are…” joins several separate points without a clear grammatical structure. There are recurring problems with agreement and verb forms, as in “students who is unemployed,” and with sentence boundaries and punctuation. The salary descriptions also rely on repeated fragments such as “30% have…” without consistently stating who the percentage refers to. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then add a few accurate comparisons using structures such as “whereas” or “compared with.”
