Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You report several accurate figures from the destination chart, including 52% in full-time work, 12% unemployed, and the smaller study and part-time categories. However, the response only minimally covers the task: it gives no clear overview of the main patterns and barely addresses the salary table. The statement that freelance consultants had “five percent salary of 50000” misreads the table: 5% earned $25,000–49,999, while 40% earned $100,000 or more. You correctly note that 50% of government employees were in the highest salary band, but omit the other employment groups and comparisons. Avoid unsupported explanations such as graduates being unemployed “due to their bad interview”; the chart gives no reason. Select key comparisons and summarise both visuals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has some basic organisation: it begins with the destination chart, then lists several categories, and ends by referring to salaries. Connectors such as “So” and “And” show attempts to link ideas. However, the information is mostly presented as a sequence of separate observations, with no distinct overview or clear grouping of related figures. Repeated openings such as “The chart is showing” make the progression mechanical, while the shift to salary information is abrupt and underdeveloped. Organise the response into an introduction, an overview of the main patterns, and focused paragraphs comparing destinations and salaries. Use references such as “By contrast” or “Regarding salaries” to make relationships between points clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the broad subject, including “unemployed,” “full time work,” “postgrad study,” and “Government sector.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, particularly repeated use of “the chart is showing.” Some word choices also make the meaning unclear: “there was no any clue about them” is an awkward way to describe the “Not known” category, and “five percent salary of 50000” does not clearly express a salary-band proportion. Spelling errors such as “tweleve” and “feelance” are noticeable. Practise accurate chart language, including “accounted for,” “earned,” and “salary band,” and use the labels from the visual precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer clauses, for example, “fifty two percent … who graduated from university, started full time work.” However, the range remains limited, and frequent errors affect accuracy and sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. Examples include “The chart is showing the information that what did Anthropologists do,” where the embedded question has incorrect word order, and “Which mean they did not do anything,” which is an incomplete sentence with faulty agreement. There are also errors in articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “eight percent of the Anthropologists graduated.” Aim for direct, controlled structures: “The chart shows what graduates did after completing their degrees” and “Twelve per cent were unemployed.” Check punctuation and agreement when combining clauses.
